I have a dog who’s rather needy. He likes people, he doesn’t like to be alone, and he makes a lot of noise if things don’t go his way. As people with dogs tend to do, I often talk to him like he’s a human.

“I know you think the world’s ending, but it’s really not,” I admonished him the other day, rolling my eyes at his desperate whining.

As soon as the words left my mouth, I felt like God was saying the same thing. I know you think the world’s ending, but it’s really not.

I don’t think many people would argue that this world feels a little crazy right now. Afghanistan, vaccines, mandates, recalls, fact-checkers…most of the time if you listen to the reports, they sound more like a movie than the news. (I’m convinced someday all of this will be made into a movie.)

It’s easy to get fearful. Discouraged. Hopeless. Worn out. Doubtful that things will ever get better.

But God’s still working and he works ALL things for good! Jeremiah says his plans for our future are GOOD. That’s a promise.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:28 NKJV

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NLT

It might feel like things are going downhill, but there’s a turnaround coming. Those who trust God SHALL see his goodness in the land of the living.

I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Psalm 27:13 NKJV

It may feel decidedly “end times” in these times, but pretty much every generation before us has thought the same thing, and none of them have been raptured yet. Don’t allow fear to rule your life or decide to just hide out until Jesus comes back! That’s not exactly “life and life abundantly” like the Bible promises. You have a purpose and an assignment. If you’re a believer, you carry power and authority from on high, and you have the choice to keep hoping and keep believing and keep contending in prayer until you see the answers come. Don’t give up! Don’t fall for the enemy’s narrative! If what you’re hearing isn’t optimistic, it’s probably not from God.

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

John 10:10 NKJV

It might look like the world’s ending, but looks can be deceiving. It’s not over. I believe we’re coming into some of the greatest days this earth has ever seen, and I release hope today over anyone who’s struggling to have faith. I know I say this all the time, but that’s because I am utterly convinced of it: the best is yet to come!
