Nothing has caused me more torment in my life than the spirit of shame. Starting when I was very young, it fed me lies I didn’t know better than to believe, and I’ve been in a battle against this spirit for as long as I can remember.
I felt it come on strong on New Year’s Eve, just hours before the calendar turned over. Coupled with a deep sense of foreboding, it did not leave easily. I prayed, spoke against it, and finally felt some relief when I began declaring targeted scriptures out loud.
Today I am sharing some of those powerful verses with you. When you feel the spirit of shame attacking, speak these verses over yourself and your situation! I’ll be doing the same. I WILL win the victory in this war against shame, and so will you! God’s word is a weapon, so let’s get weaponized:
Therefore there is now no condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.
