None of these companies are asking me to post about their products; I just want to share some of the items I am personally shopping for this year.
I have become the person I never thought I’d be. The person I, quite frankly, used to roll my eyes at. But after reading too many books, scrutinizing too many articles and social media posts, and watching too many interviews about the worrisome state of modern American health, I find myself getting crunchier and crunchier. Me, lover of cupcakes and blended coffee. 😁 I’m trying to go easy on those, but in the meantime, I’m doing my best to make healthier choices that are a bit easier – like using natural skincare products and cleaners that are free of plastic.
Believe me, I wish it benefited my health to drink a large Ba-Nay-Nay from Dutch Bros every day and eat dessert after every meal, and plasticware is certainly more convenient than glass…but I can’t deny that I feel better when I make different choices. No, I don’t raise my own chickens or weave my own fabric, but I’m trying to take small steps in a healthier direction.
Here are some of the products I’ve tried and liked on this journey of discovery. These are the items and brands I’m watching this week and hoping to score some deals on!
Rowe Casa Organics.I love what this company stands for, and I’ve had good results with the hormone kit. (Goodbye, monthly pain that has haunted me for too long!) I’m hoping to grab the Cold + Head Flu Bundle this week because I seem to catch all the germs from kids at work! No deals spotted yet, but I know they’ve offered 40% discounts in past years. (NOTE: If you are reading this at any time other than Black Friday, be aware that ONLY FIRST-TIME CUSTOMERS can use a discount code! Don’t be like me and sign up for e-mails after placing your first order. My advice is to sign up for the e-mails first to get a discount code, and then stock up on your very first order so you don’t miss out.)
Redmond Real Sea Salt. I put this stuff on everything, it seems to last forever, and it’s affordable.
Blueland.Yes to cleaning products without plastic! So far I’ve tried the dishwasher tablets, toilet cleaner, and dryer ball. I like all of the above, although I will say that toilets need cleaning more often with natural products than with traditional cleaners, in my experience. Blueland is currently running a sitewide sale of up to 30% off.
Crunchi.Products I love: Goldenlight® Multi-Peptide Facial Serum and Nightlight® Advanced Facial Cream. Crunchi is currently advertising up to 50% off skincare. Their stuff is spendy, so this is the time to buy!
Toups & Co Organics.Another natural skincare brand I like. I’ve tried some of the tallow lip products, and I’ve heard good things about their foundation, so I have high hopes for that, too. Toups & Co has had a few different offers already this month, so I imagine they will have even better deals later this week.
Pact. After reading Alden Wicker’s book To Dye For, I’ve become more conscious of purchasing clothing that isn’t potentially toxic. Pact offers an array of organic cotton clothing that’s comfy and, as of this writing, up to 40% off! Normally I’m more of a bright color girl, but I’ve been getting all my basics here and I like everything I’ve purchased so far. You can order from wearpact.com or from Amazon. I especially like the camis!
Ancient Nutrition. I noticed a decrease in joint pain within days when I started taking collagen every day. Some varieties have added sweetener, and those don’t always agree with me, so I prefer to stir the unflavored powder into my coffee, yogurt, or green tea. Collagen can be on the pricey side, but Ancient Nutrition has deals often, not just on Black Friday.
Yerba Prima Tampico Skin Brush. I use this for dry brushing about once a week before showering. Between this and a smear of coconut oil afterward, my skin feels amazing!
WHOLENATURALS Pure Castile Soap. I mix this with water and keep it in a glass soap dispenser next to the sink. I love that it doesn’t dry out my skin, and it’s inexpensive.
RiseWell Mineral Toothpaste. I’ve been using this natural toothpaste for a few weeks and I really like the flavor. I do miss the added whitening benefits of brand-name toothpaste, but it’s worth it to me to know the brand is clean.
Papaya. I hate wasting so many paper products and am intrigued by these reusable paper towels. I will probably be grabbing one or two to try this holiday season when they’re on sale (currently 25% off sitewide). I think this one is the cutest!
Frownies. Okay, real talk here: I tried these about a year ago and didn’t really notice a difference. I keep hearing positive comments from others, though, so I’m thinking of trying them again now that there’s a 20% discount. They’re available on Amazon here.
Lumebox. I’ve heard such good things about red light therapy, and I’m hesitantly hopeful. I haven’t tried it yet but am seriously considering a purchase this week!
Flux Footwear. Thanks to genetics and too many high heels in the past, I have bunions and have been hoping to try a pair of these shoes because they have a wide toe box. The pair I want hasn’t gone on sale yet, but I’m keeping close tabs on them this week!
Hope this list proves helpful to my fellow deal-hunters who are attempting to be crunchier (some of us reluctantly 😉)! Happy shopping this week, and Happy Thanksgiving to my American friends!
